Assessment and Development Centers

Assessment and Development Centers represent systematical and proven way to assess the potential of a candidate for a specific job description or to advance the development of talented employees in an optimal manner to ensure promotion and fit to the needs of a company.

Assessment and Development Centers aim to assess potential of individuals and identify their abilities to work within different positions in the company, or for further development in the company.

The result of Assessment/Development Center is objective feedback on the potential of the participants.

The report that follows Assessment/Development Center clearly defines strong points and areas of development for each participant to serve as platform for aligning participant's personal development with strategic needs and goals of the company.


When to Organize Assessment/Development Centre?

When done in appropriate way, Assessment and Development Centers offer numerous advantages for the company as well as it's employees. By assessing the skills of particular employee, both the company and employee obtain detailed insight in the competency level as well as strengths and areas for development. Based on such information, the company can make clear plan for developing skills of each employee in line with strategic goals (needs) of the organization.

At the same time, the employee receives clear directions for personal development to ensure his/her career develops in the desired direction.


Our approach to developing and conducting Assessment and Development Centers

In Gentis we have significant experience in creating and conducting Assessment and Development Centers in different industries.

Our projects aim to assess the competencies of specific groups of employees within a company. Most often these groups are talented people in a company, management teams or assessment of individuals to plan for succession.

Before we create Assessment or Development Center, our consultants work with you to define your needs, understand the specifics of the industry, develop the competency model if needed, and agree on the desired outcome. We approach each client individually and adapt Assessment or Development Center to concrete demands and needs of the company.


ASSESSMENT AND DEVELOPMENT CENTER PROCES


How do Assessment or Development Centers Work?

Based on your information, our consultants create individual and group exercises. The purpose is to simulate the situations of business world specific to the industry you work in. Experience shows that the behavior of individuals in simulated situations in a great deal resembles the behavior in everyday work.

Assessment or Development Center usually last for one day. During the day, the participants go through a series of individual and group exercises. Our independent assessors note the behaviors of participants and based on evidences collected during the exercises rate their level of competencies. To avoid subjective assessment and achieve the highest possible level of objectivity, during creation process for each exercise we define the expected behavior in detail. This enables the same criteria for each assessor and personal approach is minimized.


What Happens After the Assessment?

Upon completing the Assessment and Development Center our consultants analyze evidence of behaviors displayed during exercises. Final assessment is agreed by consensus of at least three assessors which observed the participant during the Center.

Based on this report our consultants can help you develop Individual Development Plan for each participant. This plan offers clear directions about development needs and aligning personal plans with strategic goals of the company.
